Do I need Flex Your Rights' permission for public DVD screenings?
All Flex Your Rights educational materials -- including original web content and videos -- are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License. As such, you are generally permitted and encouraged to screen our DVDs in public. (This includes local public-access television.) No additional written permission or fees are required, so long as you are not displaying the work for commercial purposes.

My campus administration needs your direct permission to screen Flex DVDs

Can I display your Flex Your Rights videos on my website?
Yes! You may select any video from our YouTube channel, and use the convenient “embed” code to display the material on your site. All we ask is that you refer to Flex Your Rights by name and provide a hyperlink to our website.

Flex Your Rights is available to the media for comments and information. If you're on a tight deadline, please include “URGENT” in the comments. We'll do our best to respond promptly. (You can also email media@flexyourrights.org.)

Please understand that we do not provide direct legal services. If you've recently been charged with a crime or are under investigation, we strongly urge you to contact a local attorney ASAP. (You do not have to talk to the police!)
