I'm not trying to say that Police aren't in public.
I'm not trying to say that it should be illegal to tape police.
I'm just saying that if some guy whipped out a video camera at your job to "make sure you didn't do anything wrong" you would probably be at the very least ANNOYED and possibly ANGRY.
Most police are honest and trying to serve. A few are dishonest and should certainly be punished, prosecuted, fired (whatever is appropriate). But we have procedures in place for this in virtually all police departments. Use these procedures and leave your video camera at home.
