a lot of people get this confused. Miranda(your rights) only have to be read hen someone is 1)in custody/detained and 2)being questioned. I DO NOT and am not required to read Miranda to someone I arrest if I am not asking them any questions. I also do not have to read Miranda when I have some pulled over on a traffic stop. Although they are being detained, i am merely on a fact-finding mission.
