They could of towed your vehi
They could of towed your vehicle for driving while suspended. Before towing your vehicle, the officer has the right to do an inventory search. That is, a search of anything in your vehicle. That is why the officer said that if you were not going to give him consent he would just have reverted to towing your vehicle. If you had nothing to hide, I would rather give consent rather than having the officer tow the vehicle. (costs approx. $150.00) The officer had a right to pat down the passenger(boyfriend) for his safety to check for weapons. I generally will try to ID the passenger when it is determined that the driver is suspended.
